Matheus de Vilhena Moraes, a member of the Núcleo de Pesquisa em Ética, Filosofia, Teoria política e social(NéFiTs), has been awarded a FAPESP scholarship to undertake a research internship at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in France. He will be supervised by Professor Franck Fischbach and will join the Centre d’histoire des philosophies modernes de la Sorbonne.

The project, titled “The Social as an Element for Thinking About Poverty: Why Is There No Cooperation in Favor of the Poor?”, will be developed between June and December 2025. It aims to rethink the concept of the social based on Fischbach’s work, investigating how cooperation can support emancipatory political practices capable of overcoming the limitations of traditional institutional approaches to the problem of poverty.

The research represents an important topic in the group’s discussions on social philosophy, cooperation, and social justice.

This is Matheus’s second international research internship. During his undergraduate studies in Law at Unesp Franca, he also participated in an academic experience at Yale University in the United States, also with support from FAPESP.

Congratulations, Matheus, on this important achievement! Parabéns, Matheus, por essa importante conquista!
